Anna Wintour is out. Is It Time for a New Era at Vogue?
After 37 years as editor-in-chief of Vogue US, Anna Wintour is stepping down. It’s a big moment she shaped the fashion industry in countless ways. She’s been a powerful figure, with sharp taste and major influence. But let’s be real: nearly four decades in charge is a LONG time, and she at Vogue often felt exclusive and hard to break into. (you know the circle was very small)
Her departure could be exactly what the fashion world needs. It’s time for fresh eyes—someone younger, creative, and ready to push boundaries. Fashion should feel exciting again. Not just about selling clothes, but telling stories and finding new voices.Let’s make art again.
And maybe behind the scenes, this shift will lead to a healthier, more collaborative work environment—less about intimidation, more about growth.
Here are three names I’d love to see take the lead:
Chioma Nnadi (head of editorial content at British Vogue)
Edward Enninful (we all know he has the calling)
Kate Betts (former fashion news director at Vogue)
Grace Coddington (despite her age, she’s an incredible fashion editor)
Jonathan Anderson debuts in Dior men
On June 27th, Jonathan Anderson presented his first collection as the Creative Director for Dior Men. Reactions were mixed; some people were excited, while others were less impressed, especially as rumored prices began circulating.
In my opinion, the collection was OK. It felt like a step up from what Dior had been doing recently. Did I like it? Yes. You could see elements of Anderson's previous work, such as oversized pants, bold color combinations, and quirky shoes, which hinted at JW Anderson's vibe and his time at Loewe.
Anderson has a unique style, which is part of what makes him an exciting choice. However, Dior is a very different house than Loewe. While Loewe is known for being playful, creative, and experimental, Dior is more refined and classic in its approach. Although Anderson's first collection infused some energy, it needed a bit more polish to align with Dior's legacy.
That said, Anderson clearly has talent, which is why he was chosen for the job, and I believe he will find the right balance. He needs to act quickly—since not everyone has embraced this debut, and the fashion world can be unforgiving and impatient.
Something I'm very curious about... is what he will do for Dior women.
Men fashion is getting interesting again
Thank God!
After seasons dominated by safe silhouettes and a growing fatigue with what we've come to call “quiet luxury” (let’s be honest, it was just boring), menswear is finally experiencing a revival. Bold color combinations, unexpected styling choices, and collections bursting with personality are returning to the runway. This is the kind of energy we’ve all been craving—at least, I know I have! This proves that creativity in menswear isn't dead; it was just dormant. This season has reminded us that there is still some talent in the industry and that designers can be daring. Which leads me to wonder: if they have this potential, what has been holding them back all this time?
Here are some of my favorite this season:
